Minor Pieces
The Knights and Bishops are collectively known as the Minor Pieces. In general, they are more powerful than Pawns, but less powerful than Rooks and Queens (the Major Pieces).

The Kings
The Kings must remain tucked away for most of the game, while everything kicks-off across the middle of the board between selected Major and Minor Pieces, plus the Pawns.
It’s only when things settle down (towards the Endgame phase) that the Kings get to show their strengths (such as guiding a Pawn to Promotion).
