No doubt, chess for children can help to develop certain skills during education levels of our kids.
1. Chess Set vs. Chess Computer Game - I like the picture of son and dad playing chess in nature. On the other hand, in our technical world, kids will also enjoy playing chess against a computer program. The question shouldn't be computer game or chess set, both would be the best.
2. Chess In Schools - Chess on the school timetable would be a good addition. Chess during lunch? Well, kids should better go out and move around.
3. Playing Chess vs. Playing About - One does not exclude the other! Children often don't learn to sit down and concentrate on a thing these days.
4. Chess - When Is Too Young? - Based on the stages of cognitive development I think children should not start too early learning chess.
As with any other leisure activities learning chess should not become a burden for children. Even if the child has talent, parents should not put pressure on them to become the next grandmaster.
