When performing a Space Count, for either side, you only count the squares that can be sighted in the opposing half.
So, if you're totting-up the Space Count for White, you do your Counting, where applicable, in Black's Half ...
Which, by radical powers of deduction, means the Space Count for Black's army is performed in White's Half. Smashing.
